Educational Tours for Everyone

The Palm Cottage™ house museum, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and The Norris Gardens at Palm Cottage™ represent a genuine window to Neapolitan life in the early 1900s. Our engaging Docent-led tours include tales about Naples adventurous pioneers, turn-of-the-century gardening stories, and introductions to some of Naples most prestigious, local architectural gems.

Located conveniently in the Naples Historic District, one block east of the Naples Pier, the Naples Historical Society is headquartered on the grounds of Historic Palm Cottage™, the oldest house in Naples. Built in 1895 by Walter N. Haldeman, publisher of the Louisville Courier-Journal, the 3,500 square foot house-turned museum exudes the rustic charm of the period.

NO RESERVATIONS NEEDED.
(This tour includes access to Cottage Theater and a self-guided stroll through The Norris Gardens at Palm Cottage™.)  

Take a step back in time and learn about early Naples history and explore Neapolitan life through these tours.   Watch history come alive!  

	Tour length varies by the visitor: 20 - 60 minutes based on your interest.
	Tuesday through Saturday, 1-4 p.m.
	Admission fee is $10 per person, free for children 10 and under.
	MEMBERS ARE FREE!

Docent-guided Tours of The Norris Gardens at Palm Cottage™

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED.
(This tour includes a self-guided tour of Palm Cottage™.)

Take another step back in time and learn about the vegetation and landscape history over the last 100 years while you explore all five of the historic gardens: The Garden of the Senses, The Palm Collector's Garden, The Edible Garden, The Pioneer Garden, and The Shade Garden.  

	Garden tour length is one hour.
	Year Round:   the first and third Thursday of each month, 10-11:00 a.m.
	Admission fee is $10 per person, free for children 10 and under.
	MEMBERS ARE FREE!

Naples Historic District Walking Tours

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED.
(This tour includes a Docent-guided tour of Palm Cottage™, access to Cottage Theater and a self-guided stroll through The Gardens.)  

Come enjoy this very popular 2 to 2.5 hour walking tour through parts of the Naples Historic District including alleys and the Naples Pier.   Enjoy colorful anecdotes about the people and places of Old Naples. Factual stories gleaned from our oral history project dot this spectacular walking tour.  

	November to April:   Every Wednesday, 10 a.m. (arrive at Palm Cottage™ by 9:45 a.m.)
	May to October:   the first Wednesday of each month, 9 a.m. (arrive at Palm Cottage™ by 8:55 a.m.)
	Admission fee is $16 per person.
	MEMBERS $10, a 37% discount.
