Educational Tours for Adults and Children
The Palm Cottage™ house museum, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and The Norris Gardens represent a genuine window to Neapolitan life in the early 1900s. Our engaging Docent-led tours include tales about Naples' adventurous settlers, turn of the century gardening stories, and introductions to some of Naples' most prestigious, local architectural gems.
Located conveniently in the heart of Old Naples, one block east of the Naples Pier, the Naples Historical Society is headquartered on the grounds of Palm Cottage™, the oldest house in Naples. Built in 1895 by Walter N. Haldeman, publisher of the Louisville Courier-Journal, the 3,500 square foot house museum exudes the rustic charm of the period. Be sure to visit our gift shop offering one of the area's most unique collections of historical books and gifts.
Educators! Please inquire about our one-hour Children's Education Program designed to engage 4th and 5th grade school students. It supplements Collier County School District FCAT materials and is spearheaded by former elementary teachers, now Palm Cottage™ docents!
