Volunteer for Preservation
Come and be a part of living history! Our doors are always open to community friends interested in donating their time and energy to our mission. Whether you are interested in becoming a Docent and telling historical facts and stories, working in our gift shop or assisting during our busy Christmas season, we offer a range of volunteer opportunities accompanied by personal training to make your experience enjoyable and satisfying. Listed below are just some of the volunteer opportunities we have available, or call us at 239-261-8164 for more details on how you can be a part of living history. Volunteer opportunities include:
Guide Tours of Palm Cottage™, The Norris Gardens or the Third Street Historical District:
Group and individual instruction is provided by John Mayer, master Docent and Board Member.
Gift Shop Volunteer: Offer helpful customer service and process simple transactions.
Open Palm Cottage™: Takes just 15 minutes on any given Saturday, your choice!
Join our Education Committee: Participate in our historic educational programs geared for 4th and 5th grade students.
Serve on Our Garden Committee: Work in the herb garden, prune our roses, water small areas and complete many other light tasks to support our turn-of-the-century garden.
Be a Christmas Volunteer: Be a part of this busy season. Even just a few hours are very helpful. Choose from a variety of opportunities. (You do not need to be a Docent for this!)
